Fun with Amy and Skeeter

We drove down to Waco to spend the day with Amy Jones on Saturday! We had SO much fun. It was pouring rain so we vetoed the trip to the zoo and spent the day at the pottery studio instead. We all had so much fun!

Eternal Security?

This was the topic of conversation of our house tonight.  I found this response on line and really like it.  Pastor Dale

Question: What is the Wesleyan doctrine on the eternal security of the believer and what Scriptures are used to support it?

Answer: Be certain that we believe ALL Scripture, including John 10:28-29 which speaks of no one being able to pluck the believer (God's sheep) out of the Father's hand. We are secure in Christ. The key is that we remain in Christ. God has promised to safeguard His followers, but they must be following Him. Matt. 10:6 and Luke 15 speak of believers who have chosen to separate themselves from the protection and gracious leading of Christ and have fallen into unbelief. Those who have fallen away are no longer God's sheep and, therefore, have forfeited the inheritance promised to God's children. John 10:28-29 is a promise only for those of whom Jesus can say, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me" (v.27).

Wesleyan doctrine affirms the biblical teaching that eternal life in Christ is a present possession only on the condition of a present living faith. Eternal life is not an irrevocable consequence of a moment's act of faith sometime in the past. Jesus said, "He who stands firm to the end will be saved" (Matt. 10:22).

I'm posting these here but NOT on facebook.  Too many people over there.  Jamie and Jerry were here yesterday and talking about how much weight I had lost.  I really can't tell that huge of a difference in how I look jut how I feel.  So Jamie told me to pull a picture of before and now.  I was hard pressed to find a picture from last fall since I try to NOT be in pictures but I found one.  Here they are.  October of 08 and April of 09

Random Pictures from Jan and Feb

So, because I can't figure out how to upload these pictures in the order I want to talk about them in...this is more random than I had hoped. Here you go.
Elena, Calli & Ellie on the front porch of the nursing home after passing out Valentines.
Ellie making her pink carnation "kiss" the daffodill! So funny!
Silly girls.

Last Saturday was VERY windy. We took the opportunity to go to the field by the school and fly our kite! Garrett and Elena enjoyed the playground more than the kite though!
Wesley, in work mode...sort of!
Katie and Garrett about to head down the slides.
Trying my hand at kite flying. I did get it up but Gary was better! It was a bit too windy.

These pictures were of the girl scout troop making Valentines to take to the nursing home...see what I mean about these not being in order? This was the circle prayer at the end of our evening. I'm not sure what the crossed arms is all about but apparently that's something the girl scouts do.

Sweet little Garrett LOVES this little trike...does anyone know where they make these for BIG kids?
One week Alexander's mommy was pretty sick. I spent most of the week at their house taking care of them. On Friday, I really needed to come home for a few hours so I brought little Alexander home with me for the day. He did great and we had so much fun with him!
